Cherokee to Substation A Transmission Project
Overview
As part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades, we plan to construct a new 115-kilovolt electric transmission line from the existing Cherokee Substation to a new 115-kilovolt substation (Substation A) in Commerce City. This line will tie in electrical transmission circuits in Adams County and help accommodate expected growth in the north Denver Metro area.
The Cherokee to Substation A Transmission Project is part of a larger, multi‑year effort to rebuild and upgrade vital, higher voltage transmission infrastructure across the Denver Metro area as part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades.
