Arapahoe Substation
Overview
As part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades, we plan to expand the existing Arapahoe Substation on South Platte River Drive in Denver. Expansion at the Arapahoe Substation includes installing a new 115/230 kilovolt transformer and relocating, removing, replacing and adding various substation equipment and poles.
Arapahoe Substation is part of a larger, multi-year effort to rebuild and upgrade vital, higher voltage electric transmission infrastructure across the Denver Metro area as part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades.

Schedule
Work is expected to begin in May 2028, with project components in service by December 2029.
