Cherokee to Federal Heights to Semper to Broomfield Transmission Project
Overview
As part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades, we plan to upgrade existing 115-kilovolt electric transmission line circuits connecting the Cherokee, Federal Heights, Semper and Broomfield substations in the north Denver metro area. The upgraded line will follow the existing transmission corridor, and construction will occur in two segments. These upgrades will increase system reliability and accommodate future distribution services.
Rebuilt electric transmission line:
- Cherokee substation to Federal Heights substation
- Federal Heights substation to Semper substation
- Semper substation to Broomfield substation
The Cherokee to Federal Heights to Semper to Broomfield Transmission Project is part of a larger, multi‑year effort to rebuild and upgrade vital, higher voltage transmission infrastructure across the Denver Metro area as part of the Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades.
