Substation A
Overview
We are constructing a new 115 kV substation known as Substation A. It will serve to tie in electrical transmission circuits in Adams County and the City and County of Denver to increase transmission reliability and to accommodate future distribution services to Xcel Energy customers. The location of the substation will be selected after a siting study has been completed.
This project is part of the larger Denver Metro Transmission Upgrades to upgrade the existing electric system to support new power generation sources and meet future electricity needs.

Schedule
Work is expected to occur between February 2028 and October 2031.
